• PREPARE YOUR MIND FOR SUCCESS:

Being an executive can be mentally tasking and incredibly stressful on your health and relationships. You must understand that to be successful, you must always have positive and optimistic thoughts in your mind. You must protect your mind from doubt, fatigue, fear, excuses, and discouragement at all costs, every day.

 

Action Exercise:

Take a sheet of paper and write the word “Mind” at the top of the page. Do not forget to add today’s date. Write down 3 positive affirmations that will make you successful in this course.  Repeat these affirmations to yourself throughout the day. For example, to build a positive self -image, you could continually repeat in your mind, ‘I have the power to change my life.”

  • HAVE A GOAL.

“A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder.” Goals are like a bridge that allows you to cross from DREAMS to REALITY. We are living at the most wonderful time in human history in terms of longevity and physical fitness. You should aim to live and grow old, in excellent health both physically and mentally. There are four keys to living a long, happy, and healthy life.

  • Train your brain for success.
  • Maintaining a proper weight
  • Eating better foods and fewer of them- “Eat to live, not live to EAT.”
  • Intentionally Exercising regularly
  • Scheduling times for leisure in your busy lifestyle
  • Adequate sleep and building good and supportive relationships.

 

Action Exercise:

On a sheet of paper, write the word “Goal” at the top of the page. Do not forget to add today’s date. Write down 3 activities that you would do or attempt to do if you were absolutely guaranteed of your success in this course. Then decide upon one specific action under each activity and start to do it immediately.

  • DEVELOP A CLEAR SENSE OF DIRECTION.

A person with a clear purpose will make progress on even the roughest road. A person with no purpose will make no progress on even the smoothest road   – Thomas Carlyle.

The two factors that, more than anything else, determine what happens to you in life are what you think and how you think about it most of the time. Successful people think about their goals most of the time. As a result, they are continually moving towards their goals, and their goals are continually moving towards them.

Write out 3 directions that you would take to achieve your goal over the next 12 weeks and create a plan to stay on the path. Begin each direction with the word “I” to make it personal to you.

Here is a great rule for success: Your life only gets better when you get better. Each day is an opportunity for mastering skills and furthering goals. Success often comes down to having the right attitude and smart decision making. You feel happy and proud when you know that you are doing everything in your power to reach your goals.
